Collaborative Efforts in the Realm of Disarmament and Arms Control
The German Foreign Office has announced funding opportunities for projects aimed at promoting the application of gender mainstreaming in post-conflict situations, and strengthening capacities in partner countries. The funding, available for the current financial year and the next three years, is intended for projects focused on conventional weapons, chemical and biological weapons, nuclear matters, cyber matters, and export control matters.
For conventional matters within the area, applicants can contact [email protected]. For matters outside the area, [email protected] is the designated contact. For chemical and biological matters, applicants should reach out to [email protected]. In the nuclear field, [email protected] is the contact email. For cyber matters, applicants can contact [email protected]. For export control matters, including dual-use goods in the non-conventional area, [email protected] is the designated contact.
Applicants are advised to submit their applications at least 12 weeks prior to the start of the project. Applications on a cost basis and from individuals are excluded from funding. In general, own or third-party funds must be provided; full funding is only granted in very well-justified exceptional cases.
Projects in the conventional, chemical and biological, nuclear, and cyber areas aim to strengthen international agreements and instruments, support the implementation and expansion of non-proliferation and control regimes, and contribute to the securing and destruction of nuclear material, chemical weapons, and the increase of biological and chemical safety. In the export control area, the global export control architecture is strengthened through capacity building and exchange of experience.
The project applications should pursue gender-sensitive approaches. However, the Foreign Office did not provide any identifiable information about specific institutions or organizations being supported in this regard.
Expenditures for evaluations are eligible. Maximal funding is available for the current financial year and the next three years. Interested parties are encouraged to reach out to the respective contact emails for more information and application guidelines.
