Collaborative Mobility in 2025: The Synergies Between Sectors Possess a Promising Pathway

In the ever-evolving world of automotive technology, the importance of large trade fairs like the International Motor Show (IAA) cannot be overstated, particularly for Germany's future in this vital sector. For seven decades, Frankfurt served as the central, international, and most successful location for the IAA, providing a crucial platform for showcasing innovation, reinforcing Germany’s strength in the automotive industry, and fostering collaboration between companies and startups.

The IAA has been instrumental in driving technological transformation and sustainability, while also serving as a strategic forum to address the future of mobility and maintain Germany's position as a global leader amidst growing international competition, notably from China.

However, it is important to note that the decision regarding the location of the IAA is not currently under the control of Messe Frankfurt. Should the IAA organizer wish to re-tender, Frankfurt, the state, and their exhibition company would be joint partners in the procedure.

Meanwhile, Messe Frankfurt remains open for discussions with organizers and industry partners in all industries. One such partnership is Automechanika, an international meeting point for industry, workshops, and trade. Automechanika is not only a significant platform for technological and economic knowledge transfer but also the leading trade fair for equipment, parts, accessories, management, and services.

The Automechanika network spans 14 events around the globe, with Automechanika Frankfurt being a key player in this global network. This trade fair has proven to be a catalyst for innovation, bringing together industry professionals, startups, and established companies to share ideas and shape the future of the automotive industry.

In light of the potential return of the IAA to Frankfurt, Messe Frankfurt would examine the possibilities and framework conditions seriously if the IAA organizer expressed interest. Such a move could mark a significant step forward in Germany's continued leadership in the automotive sector and its commitment to shaping the future of mobility.
