A traffic accident occurred on the night of Friday to Saturday, August 23rd, at 3:11 AM, on Düsseldorf Street/Im Schlenk. The incident involved a white Mercedes, which collided with a bakery shop's storefront, causing significant damage to both.
Upon arrival, the 19-year-old driver had already freed himself from the car. Fortunately, no other individuals were harmed in the accident. The driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries and subsequently underwent a series of tests.
The police conducted a breathalyzer test on the driver, which confirmed that he had exceeded the limit for absolute intoxication. A doctor also took a blood sample from the driver for further analysis. The traffic division 22 has initiated investigations, including examining whether excessive speed also contributed to the accident.
The 19-year-old driver's name has not been publicly disclosed, and he is currently charged before the Düsseldorf District Court. The police cordoned off the accident site during the investigation.

As the investigation continues, the community hopes for a swift resolution and a reminder for all drivers to prioritise safety on the roads.
