Collision involving a minibus results in four casualties during a risky overtaking maneuver
A significant traffic accident occurred on Hövelhofer Straße near Lönsweg in Delbrück, involving an Audi RS6, a Ford Transit with a pickup truck, and a bus.
According to the Paderborn Police, the incident took place outside of office hours. The driver of the Ford Transit, a 52-year-old man, turned left into Lönsweg, causing a collision. As a result, the Audi skidded and collided with the front of the bus, ending up in a ditch with total damage.
Unfortunately, the drivers of the Audi and the Transit sustained severe injuries, while the passenger in the Transit sustained minor injuries. Fortunately, the bus driver and all four passengers on the bus remained uninjured.
All vehicles involved in the accident sustained significant damage, with an estimated total damage of at least 60,000 euros. The Audi has been secured by the Paderborn Police for further investigation.
Hövelhofer Straße was closed in the area of the accident until 8:15 PM to allow for emergency services to attend to the scene and for the vehicles to be removed. The injured parties were transported to hospitals in Paderborn by ambulance.
