On June 17, 2025, a tragic quad bike accident occurred near a supermarket on Brussels Street in the town of Bulmke-Hüllen, Gelsenkirchen.

At approximately 5:15 PM, the quad bike overturned in the parking lot and broke through a fence, ending up on the adjacent premises of a gas station. Witnesses at the scene swiftly lifted the quad bike off the two women trapped underneath and freed them before paramedics arrived.

Upon arrival, paramedics provided immediate medical care to the injured women, aged 23 from Gelsenkirchen and 26 from Gladbeck, and transported them to nearby hospitals for further treatment.

The quad bike involved in the accident has been secured as evidence, and the investigation into the cause of the accident is being handled by a specialized traffic accident recording team from the Bochum police. The head of the special investigation team is not publicly disclosed.
