Collision of Two Inland Water Vessels in Middelland Canal: Incident at FW Hannover

On Friday evening at 8:10 PM, the Fire Department Hannover was alerted to a collision between two inland vessels on the Mittelland Canal in Hannover Groß-Buchholz.

Upon arrival, the fire department found the excursion ship, named "Arminius", secured to the bank. The passengers were safely evacuated by the fire department, and no hazardous materials were released during the collision, as previously stated.

A medical examination was conducted on the passengers, and six lightly injured persons were treated by an ambulance crew and a doctor. Fortunately, none of the injured individuals had to be taken to nearby hospitals.

The fire department remained on the scene until 9:15 PM. Passengers continued their journey home using public transportation and taxis, as previously reported.

The freight-carrying inland vessel continued its journey to the Anderter Lock after the collision. No further details about the freight vessel have been disclosed.

The name of the captain of the "Arminius" is not explicitly mentioned in the available search results. However, historic references indicate a Captain J. Frobeen was associated with a ship named Arminius in the late 19th century.
