Two Traffic Accidents Occur at Hamm Roundabout
On August 29, two traffic accidents took place at the roundabout of Hafenstraße/Dortmunder Straße in Hamm within an hour. The first accident occurred at approximately 1:45 PM, involving a collision between a 61-year-old Mitsubishi driver and a 20-year-old E-scooter rider. The second accident occurred at around 2:45 PM and involved an 80-year-old Daimler driver from Lünen and a 42-year-old cyclist from Hamm.
In the first accident, the E-scooter rider was slightly injured, while the Mitsubishi driver remained unscathed. The slightly injured man was transported to a local hospital by ambulance for further treatment. The condition of the Mitsubishi driver was not provided.
The second accident resulted in a more serious incident. The cyclist was seriously injured, and the 80-year-old Daimler driver was unharmed. The seriously injured woman from the second accident was also taken to a local hospital by ambulance. The condition of the cyclist and the Daimler driver was not disclosed.
The cyclist was riding on the southern cycle path towards the west in both accidents. In the second accident, the cyclist intended to leave the roundabout heading north, which resulted in the collision. The details of the E-scooter rider's actions in the first accident were not specified.
