In an exciting development for the business real estate sector, TotalEnergies has announced that it will be the main occupant of The Link, a new headquarters set to revolutionise La Défense. Over 4,000 staff are expected to move into the iconic tower.

The goal for The Link is to become a symbol of ecological transition, pushing the boundaries of sustainable design in the business real estate sector. Standing at two distinct heights, one wing of The Link will reach 165 meters, while the other will soar to 244 meters, surpassing current tallest buildings in France, including Tour Montparnasse (210 meters) and Tour First (231 meters).

Located in the Michelet district, on the former TotalEnergies towers site in La Défense, Paris, The Link embodies a new generation of skyscrapers in France. It represents a fresh approach to urban verticality, embracing verticality not as a constraint, but as an opportunity to rethink workspaces.

The articulation between the two heights allows for open views of Paris and its surroundings. The tower's unique architecture, composed of two distinct wings connected by glass walkways every three floors, breaks with traditional closed and segmented towers, favouring fluid circulation between spaces.

The Link is designed to prioritise natural light, intelligent ventilation, thermal optimization, and the use of durable materials. It aims for several major certifications, including HQE, BREEAM, and WELL, focusing on energy performance, workplace comfort, and low ecological impact.

The architectural office that developed the The Link skyscraper project is Foster + Partners, with Philippe Chiambaretta as the director. The tower is part of a desire to modernise France's main business district and integrate it into an international dynamic.

The chosen location is strategic, being close to major transport axes and at the heart of the Ile-de-France economic fabric. The Link will offer integrated services such as catering, collaborative spaces, landscaped terraces, relaxation areas, and connected meeting rooms.

The opening of The Link is scheduled for the end of 2025, marking an important step in the history of La Défense. It will symbolise a shift towards a more sustainable, integrated, and modern approach to business real estate in France.
