On July 28, 2025, at 12:50 PM, a significant traffic accident took place on Schwarzwaldstraße in Freiburg. The incident involved a public bus, two passenger cars, and resulted in substantial property damage.
According to the latest updates from the Police Headquarters Freiburg, the bus was stationary at a bus stop with its hazard lights on. Two drivers attempted to overtake the bus, and during this maneuver, an overtaking car approaching from behind was missed by the 69-year-old driver of the car directly behind the bus. This oversight led to a side collision between the two vehicles, which in turn caused all three vehicles to be pushed to the right and collide with the public bus.
Fortunately, all vehicle occupants remained unharmed in the accident. The Schwarzwaldstraße was immediately closed for the duration of the traffic accident investigation and recovery operations.
