Baden-Württemberg Police Welcomes Over 150 New Officers
The police force of Baden-Württemberg is set for a significant boost with the arrival of more than 150 newly trained officers. This addition comes as part of a larger recruitment offensive launched by the force in 2016, which has seen over 13,000 young people won over for training with the state police of Baden-Württemberg.
Deputy Minister-President and Interior Minister, Thomas Strobl, highlighted that the police of Baden-Württemberg is an attractive and popular employer. He stated that the profession is a calling and is not just any profession. The Minister emphasized that the force has been one of the safest states for years due to the professional work of the police.
The newly trained officers completed their training at the police training locations in Biberach, Herrenberg, Wertheim, Bruchsal, and Lahr. They will officially be farewelled and appointed as police masters on September 1, 2025, during a ceremony at the five training locations.
By 2026, the police of Baden-Württemberg will have over 1,000 more fully trained police officers, achieving a personnel increase of over 1,000 officers since 2016. This increase is a testament to the success of the recruitment offensive and the continued appeal of the police profession.
Strobl also mentioned that despite demographic change, the shortage of skilled workers, and growing challenges, they continue to attract many young, qualified people to the police profession. The state will continue the recruitment offensive in the coming years and continue to offer numerous training places.
The police of Baden-Württemberg ensures good working conditions and modern equipment for its employees. Interested individuals can find more information about education and training opportunities in the police profession on the career portal of the Police BW.
