Companies Emirates Glass and ClearVue inked an agreement to produce solar glazing solutions within the UAE and Gulf Cooperation Council region.
In a significant step towards the UAE's Net Zero by 2050 strategic initiative, Emirates Glass, a subsidiary of Dubai Investments PJSC, has signed a five-year Manufacturing and Distribution Agreement with ClearVue Technologies Limited (ASX:CPV). This partnership aims to bring cutting-edge solar glazing solutions to the UAE and wider GCC market.
Rizwanulla Khan, Executive President of Emirates Glass, commented on the partnership, stating, "This collaboration underscores the growing market appetite for clean, renewable energy solutions embedded into building materials." Doug Hunt, Global CEO of ClearVue Technologies, also commented, expressing his confidence in the partnership's potential to contribute to the UAE's broader sustainability ambitions.
The partnership positions Emirates Glass and Dubai Investments to leverage ClearVue's advanced solar-integrated glass technology. This technology allows glass to generate electricity from sunlight while maintaining clarity and high-performance insulation. The solar glazing can be used for facades, skylights, windows, canopies, and even greenhouses, making it suitable for use in commercial, residential, and institutional developments.
Emirates Glass will hold non-exclusive distribution rights across the UAE and the broader GCC region. The agreement also allows Emirates Glass to locally manufacture ClearVue's advanced solar-integrated glass. Guardian Glass will produce and distribute innovative solar-integrated glass in collaboration with Emirates Glass and Dubai Investments PJSC under this agreement in the UAE and GCC region. Production of the solar-integrated glass is expected to commence later this year.
The ClearVue Solar Facade enhances natural light and thermal performance, making it a valuable solution in climates like the UAE's. Buildings equipped with this technology can reduce reliance on conventional power sources, contributing to the UAE's goal of a more sustainable future. The ClearVue Solar Facade meets the most stringent fire rating requirements for high-rise buildings, ensuring safety and compliance.
The partnership between Emirates Glass and ClearVue Technologies is not just a business agreement; it is a testament to the intersection of industrial innovation and environmental responsibility. This collaboration positions both parties to contribute significantly to the UAE's sustainability goals and the growing demand for clean, renewable energy solutions in the building sector.
