FC Barcelona has taken a significant step forward in enhancing the training experience at their Camp Tito Vilanova, with the installation of a cutting-edge LED wall. The 18x9.8-foot (5.5x3m) Philips Urban LED 7000 Series LED wall, located just beyond the touchline on Pitch 1, the first team's official training area, is a testament to the club's commitment to innovation.
The installation was a collaborative effort between FC Barcelona, PPDS, and local LED integration expert, LED Dream. Cesar Sans, sales director for Iberia at PPDS, commented that the display offers new levels of analysis, including player data and tactical decisions.
The Philips Urban LED 7000 Series LED wall seamlessly integrates into the stadium infrastructure, providing multiple live views of the action. With a high brightness of 6,000 nits, the display is capable of withstanding various weather and lighting conditions in the Catalonian capital, including heavy rain, direct sunlight, and floodlight glare.
The LED wall's pixel pitch of 3.9pp offers detailed real-time player analysis, making it an invaluable tool for the coaching team. The installation was completed efficiently and on time, causing minimal disruption to the team's training schedule.
In addition to its practical uses, the LED wall does not display advertisements, ensuring that the focus remains on the football. The 7000 Series LED wall includes an IP66 rating, making it resistant to dust and corrosive airborne salt spray from the nearby Mediterranean sea.
