Competing to Defend the Gold Medal in the 2025 Urban Cycling Event
Braunschweig, a city known for its vibrant community and commitment to sustainability, is once again participating in the Bike to Work 2025 campaign. This initiative, part of the STADTRADELN event, invites everyone who lives, works, belongs to a club, or attends school in our city to join.
The Bike to Work campaign aims to promote fun, switching to cycling, team spirit, and climate protection. Last year, our city residents collectively cycled an impressive 139,279 kilometers, securing first place ahead of Kaufungen and Vellmar in the campaign. Hartmut Wicke was even awarded the victory certificate for the city of Braunschweig in the "Kilometers cycled" category.
The campaign also saw 620 cyclists in 49 teams cycling more than three times around the Earth between May and June last year. This impressive feat earned our city a gold medal in the Bike to Work campaign.
