Proper Good, a home delivery food service startup based in Austin, Texas, has secured $3.5 million in a funding round, led by Yeti Capital and The Artisan Group. The funding round also saw participation from Doug Bouton, founder and CEO of Halo Top and Gatsby Chocolate.
Founded in 2020 by siblings Jennifer Jane and Christopher Jane, Proper Good's objective is to prepare wholesome meals that satisfy consumers' nutritional requirements. Since its launch, the startup has delivered over 500,000 meals through its direct-to-consumer model, offering super convenient healthy meals that can be eaten in 90 seconds.
The meals offered by Proper Good are suitable for a variety of dietary needs, including keto, dairy-free, gluten-free, plant-based, and low-sodium options. Proper Good's services cover a wide range of dishes, including soups, oatmeal, curry, chili, and overnight oats.
The funds raised will be used to support Proper Good's recent expansion into more than 2,000 Walmart Supercentre stores. Jennifer and Christopher plan to use the funds for product innovation and growth in retail and ecommerce.
