Competition of Runners Using Rocket Themes in the Pönitz Folk Race
In the picturesque town of Scharbeutz, Germany, on the 13th of July, 2023, the AWO Kindergarten's Racing Rocket team participated in the "Little Friends Run" as part of the Poénitz Volkslauf. This annual running event, geared towards children, marked the highlight of the Racing Rocket team's running season.
A total of 20 Racing Rockets, eager and excited, took part in the 500-meter round. Guided by their mentors, Mr. Jens Müller, educators Kati Harz, and Sr. Barbara Hoffmann, these young athletes showed great determination and spirit.
The race, held in Scharbeutz, was a memorable occasion for the Racing Rockets. Upon crossing the finish line, each participant was awarded a medal and a certificate, a testament to their hard work and perseverance. The cheers from their families added to the celebration, creating a joyous atmosphere.
The Racing Rockets running group, established four years ago, has been part of the AWO Kindergarten's activities from April until the summer vacation. This year, their training paid off as they raced their way through the "Little Friends Run" with confidence and enthusiasm.
The Poénitz Volkslauf, a well-known local event, was proud to host the Racing Rockets. Their participation not only showcased the children's athletic abilities but also the dedication and nurturing environment provided by the AWO Kindergarten.
