Competitors secure spots in the semifinals of the Kabeberi Sevens tournament with their ticket bookings
In the ongoing Kabeberi Sevens, Kabras Sugar and Menengai Oilers have secured their places in the quarter-finals. Kabras Sugar, who have had a challenging National Sevens Circuit this year, have shown signs of improvement, thanks to their growing and adapting team, as stated by coach Carlos Katywa.
Kabras Sugar kicked off their campaign with a dominant 61-0 victory over Kisumu RFC, followed by a hard-fought 21-15 win against Impala RFC. Mike Lukusi and Rayvonne Ambale scored twice each in these matches, with Michael Okello, Kevin Wekesa, Brian Tanga, Brian Mutua, Roy Muruti, and William Mwanji also making significant contributions.
In their second match, Kabras Sugar also defeated Embu RFC 43-0. However, they have faced difficulties during the National Sevens Circuit, being beaten easily at Driftwood, Prinsloo, Christie, and Embu Sevens legs.
Meanwhile, Strathmore Leos have taken the lead in their pool with an impressive 6-point total. They started their campaign with a 25-7 victory over Mwamba RFC, followed by a resounding 31-0 win against Impala RFC. Nygel Amaitsa, Victor Mola, and Samuel Wafula scored tries for Strathmore Leos in these matches. Beldad Ogeta, Alvin Khavoli, Nelson Makokha, and Philip Okeyo also scored tries for Kenya U20 in their matches.
Menengai Oilers, another team on the rise, advanced to the quarter-finals with a 52-0 victory over Kisumu RFC.
Elsewhere, KCB has also secured their quarter-final slot with victories over University of Nairobi's Mean Machine (54-0) and Mombasa RFC (31-0). Floyd Wabwire, Bob Muhati, and Brian Wahinya scored tries for KCB in their match against Mombasa RFC.
