Compulsive and Unrelenting Betting Habit
Gamescom, Europe's largest gaming event, is set to return to Cologne this year, with an expanded exhibition area of 210,000 square meters. The event, which attracts visitors from over a hundred countries annually, will run from August 20 to August 24.
One of the most anticipated events during Gamescom 2019 is the "Opening Night Live," scheduled for August 19 at 8 PM. This new addition to the event will provide an overview of the highlights and world premieres of the fair week. The event will be hosted by Geoff Keighley, the moderator and producer of the Game Awards.
Hideo Kojima, a Japanese game developer known for his work on the Metal Gear Solid series, will be a key figure at the "Opening Night Live" event. Kojima will give first insights into his new video game 'Death Stranding', which is still in development and will be released in November. Kojima will appear on the event stage, offering fans a rare opportunity to catch a glimpse of the legendary game developer.
The "Opening Night Live" event is aimed at all gamers worldwide and will be broadcast live in English and eight other languages on all major streaming platforms. Over 1,500 fans are expected to attend the event in person, while millions more will tune in online to catch the latest gaming news.
In addition to the "Opening Night Live" event, Gamescom 2019 will offer a different program in the Event Arena compared to other event areas. A new "Event Arena" will feature eSports tournaments, game presentations, and shows. Wider aisles and additional catering and lounge areas are being introduced to improve visitor experience.
Visitors can also try out various "indie games" and interact with developers at the Indie Village, a new feature at this year's Gamescom. The Netherlands is the partner country for this year's Gamescom, and over 1,000 exhibitors from around 50 countries are expected to attend.
