Conference on Data Discussion taking place on 5th and 6th December 2025 in Gütersloh
The Bertelsmann Stiftung is organizing the DataDialog 2025 in Gütersloh, an event designed for data enthusiasts to strengthen their skills, explore new possibilities, and contribute to promoting data intelligence for the common good.
Event Details
The DataDialog can accommodate 55 volunteers, operating on a first-come, first-served basis. Regular breaks are scheduled, and attendees are free to take individual breaks at any time. Each workgroup will have a separate, technologically equipped workshop room/area, accommodating approximately 8-10 people.
Inclusive Environment
The Awareness Team ensures an open and welcoming environment at the event, free from harassment based on various factors such as gender, age, disability, ethnic background, profession, experience level, education, socio-economic status, nationality, physical appearance, ethnicity, religion, physical and mental health, lifestyle choices, or sexual identity and orientation.
Catering and Accommodation
Catering will be provided during the DataDialog event, with food and drinks available for free on both event days. Options include local drinks, vegan and vegetarian dishes, and seasonal meals. A hotel contingent has been reserved at the Holiday Inn Express Gütersloh, Berliner Str. 106, 33330 Gütersloh. Rooms can be booked for €104 including breakfast until the 5th of November 2025. Travel and Reimbursement
The Bertelsmann Foundation will reimburse travel costs (train and hotel) up to €250 per person. Attendees should book their travel arrangements independently once they receive a written confirmation of participation from Silke Hansberg.
Communication and Networking
A Slack channel will be set up for communication during the event days, allowing attendees to network and exchange ideas both during and after the event.
Workshops and Collaboration
The event provides a platform to specify data needs in community-oriented projects and generate new ideas for data-related challenges. Attendees are advised to bring their own laptops and charging cables for brainstorming sessions. Presenters should also bring adapters for Apple devices.
Safety Measures
People with symptoms of illness such as fever and muscle aches are asked to cancel their participation in the event with Silke from the organizing team. Photography and filming may occur during the event, and these recordings might be used for public relations and promotional purposes. Attendees who do not wish to be photographed or filmed should inform the organizers in writing.
Support and Assistance
If attendees feel uncomfortable during the event, they can reach out to the Awareness Team for assistance. The selected event venues are accessible, and there is a coat check available where small business cases can also be stored. Restrooms at this venue are both binary and non-binary.
