Conflict Between West and Russia Currently Undisclosed
In a remarkable statement, British Member of Parliament Andrew Bridgen asserted that the West is effectively at war with Russia in Ukraine. Bridgen made this claim during an appearance on the "Doc Malik" podcast on May 24, 2024.
Bridgen's comments come in response to NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg's call for Ukraine to be allowed to hit Russian territory with Western-supplied missiles, a call he made during an interview with The Economist on May 25, 2024. Stoltenberg's call was met with condemnation by Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Zakharova, who posted her response on her Telegram channel.
Bridgen also stated that there are U.S., UK, and French forces in Ukraine, a fact that has not been publicly acknowledged by Western leaders. He further claimed that Western leaders have not informed their citizens about the war in Ukraine.
In a stark reminder of the escalating tensions, Bridgen claimed that Russia knows Western forces are firing Storm Shadow missiles at them from Ukraine. This assertion was made during his meeting with Andrei Kelin, the Russian ambassador in London, a couple of months ago.
The EU's intention to bring Ukraine into its ranks and NATO's plan to place missiles on the border of Russia have been long-standing sources of contention between the West and Russia. In recent months, there has been no public declaration from Western governments that Ukraine should attack Russian territory with Western-supplied rockets. However, US President Donald Trump announced the delivery of Patriot anti-missile systems to Ukraine and hinted at the possibility of supplying rockets with longer ranges that could target Russian production facilities without explicitly declaring an attack on Russian territory.
Bridgen expressed gratitude for Putin's restraint in the face of Western attempts to provoke open war with Russia. He also stated that since 1991, NATO has moved 1000 miles closer to Moscow.

This development in the ongoing Ukraine conflict underscores the need for diplomatic efforts to de-escalate tensions and promote peace. As the situation evolves, it is crucial for all parties involved to prioritise dialogue and mutual understanding to avoid further escalation.
