Conflict leads to arson of vehicles, causing road accidents; Motorcyclists removed from traffic due to incident; Cars reported stolen

In a series of incidents over the past few days, several areas in Tübingen and its surroundings have been affected.

Vehicle Fire and Theft in Tübingen

A vehicle fire occurred in Robert-Bosch-Straße, Sonnenbühl, on Sunday evening. The fire is believed to have been caused by a technical defect in a BMW, leading to almost complete destruction of the vehicle. The economic damage from the fire is estimated to be around 30,000 euros.

A black VW Polo was stolen from the Wennfelder Garden in Tübingen between 7 PM on Wednesday and 2:30 PM on Sunday. The stolen vehicle has the license plate TU-SF 57. The estimated value of the stolen car is around 8,000 euros. The Tübingen Police Station has initiated investigations into the vehicle's whereabouts and is accepting tips at the phone number 07071/972-1400.

Road Accidents and Injuries

In Zwiefalten, a motorcycle rider was seriously injured on Sunday evening on K6745 between Pflummern and Morsingen. The motorcyclist's Kawasaki Z1000 was found to have a worn-out rear tire and technical modifications, leading to the revocation of its operating license. Further driving was therefore prohibited.

A pedestrian sustained minor injuries in a traffic accident on Monday morning in Hofgartenstraße, Hechingen. No property damage was reported in the incident.

In Reutlingen, a knife incident occurred on Monday morning in Karlstraße, involving two acquaintances. A 34-year-old man is alleged to have caused a head injury to a 39-year-old man with a knife around 10:40 AM. The 44-year-old pedestrian was taken to the hospital for further treatment.

Traffic Violations

A 37-year-old motorcyclist was stopped by the Esslingen traffic police on Sunday afternoon for repeatedly overtaking vehicles despite a no-overtaking restriction.

In a separate incident, a pedestrian was hit by a VW up! with low speed while crossing the street at the intersection with Stutenhofstraße. No serious injuries were reported.

Criminal Investigations

The Criminal Investigation Department Reutlingen has initiated investigations at the scene of the knife incident in Karlstraße, Reutlingen. The 34-year-old man who allegedly caused a head injury to a person in Karlstraße a few days ago in the morning was involved in a stabbing incident on August 11, 2025; the suspect fled but was later arrested by the police.
