Congressional Committee Discloses Approximately 33,000 Documents Relating to Epstein Case
In a recent speech at Turning Point USA's Student Action Summit, right-wing commentator Tucker Carlson claimed that the late financier Jeffrey Epstein was likely working for Israeli intelligence services.
Carlson asserted that it was "extremely obvious" that Epstein worked for a foreign intelligence agency, specifically naming Israel. He claimed that every single person in Washington, DC believes Epstein operated for the Mossad, the Israeli intelligence agency.
This statement comes amid renewed attention on the Epstein case following the Trump administration's decision to withhold investigation records. The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee recently released over 33,000 pages of documents related to Epstein's case, which represents one of the largest public releases of government materials related to the case to date.
The Epstein case has continued to generate intense public interest and calls for transparency about his connections and activities. Epstein had relationships with powerful figures across politics, business, and academia. Alleged contacts with Epstein included prominent figures such as Bill and Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump, British politician Peter Mandelson, and Ghislaine Maxwell, who operated a sex trafficking ring with him.
However, there is no verified public evidence linking these contacts directly to covert collaboration with Israeli intelligence services. Peter Mandelson was notably dismissed as UK ambassador to the US due to his close Epstein ties. Claims regarding connections to Israeli intelligence remain speculative and unsubstantiated in credible sources. Epstein was known for his extensive and secretive network among global elites, but confirmed ties to Israeli intelligence have not been documented publicly.
Carlson also questioned the source of Epstein's wealth and claimed Epstein had "direct connections to a foreign government." He referenced former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak's reported meetings with Epstein between 2013 and 2017.
It's important to note that while Donald Trump's history with Epstein may be relevant to the case, no specific details are provided in the released documents. Proper redactions will be made to protect victims' personal information and remove other sensitive material from the documents.
The comments drew applause from the conservative audience, reflecting the ongoing fascination and speculation surrounding the Epstein case. The committee expects additional records to be produced by the Justice Department as the investigation continues.
