Connect, brainstorm, enjoy the process
Last Friday, the Youth Culture Center Alte Kaserne in Landshut hosted a vibrant and successful Youth Festival. The event, organised by the Youth Council elected in November 2024, in conjunction with the Municipal Youth Work, attracted numerous young people who engaged in a variety of activities.
The musical framework of the festival was expertly handled by DJ SixX P from Dingolfing, while artist Max Schalk, alias mr.mesc, led a graffiti action where young people could create art on canvas. The graffiti action received much acclaim, and Schalk's work was praised for its creativity and inclusivity.
The young duo "Scarlet & Sin" also performed at the festival, adding to the lively atmosphere. Numerous young people attended the festival and participated in activities such as designing sports bags, getting henna tattoos, and braiding hair.
The Second Mayor Dr. Thomas Haslinger inspected the offers at the Youth Festival and engaged in conversation with the visitors. Mayor Alexander Putz was unable to attend the Youth Festival, but Haslinger took his place. The festival created a good atmosphere, as mentioned by several attendees.
The Youth Council was able to show that commitment pays off during the Youth Festival. They were supported by employees of the Poschinger Villa Youth Center, the Mobile Youth Work, the Checkpoint Youth Club, and volunteer helpers. The Educational Youth Protection provided alcohol-free cocktails and catering during the festival.
The Youth Council was able to establish further contacts with the Landshuter youth during the Youth Festival. They also collected ideas for the future, ensuring that the next event will be even more successful. The success of the Youth Festival has already led to plans for a second event, Youth Festival 2.0, which is already scheduled for 2026.
Further providers of Landshuter youth work are invited to participate in Youth Festival 2.0. The details of who will organise the second event are yet to be announced. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting event!
