Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Expands Guitar Hotel Room Count
In an update posted on June 24, 2025, 08:35h, the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino announced that they have increased the number of rooms in the Guitar Hotel tower from 600 to 675 without reducing suite sizes or eliminating back-of-house space.
According to Joe Lupo, Hard Rock Las Vegas President, none of the originally proposed rooms changed in size despite the increase in total room count. This clarification counters earlier erroneous reports suggesting room size reductions or space repurposing to add more rooms.
The Guitar Hotel now will include 675 rooms and suites, up from the initial 600, with no changes to room sizes. The resort’s pool complex and spa areas have been expanded significantly, indicating increased overall amenity space rather than reduction in back-of-house or guest spaces.
Jonathan Goldman, the spokesperson for Hard Rock International, stated that they discovered additional usable space within the curvature of the structure, enabling them to add 75 rooms. Back-of-house space, such as supply closets, is being eliminated in the Guitar Hotel.
The property’s development scope is described as expanding rather than scaling back, meaning Hard Rock is enhancing the integrated resort experience without compromising original room designs. The casino space in the Guitar Hotel will be reduced from 48,234 square feet to 41,584 square feet, but a new restaurant has been added to the same level as the reduced spa.
The size of the spa in the Guitar Hotel has been cut in half, from 66,673 square feet to 32,958 square feet. However, the development team has worked diligently to create a detailed 30,000-square-foot spa program based on real needs and use cases.
The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino is currently constructing a 700-foot Guitar Hotel tower on top of the demolished Mirage volcano attraction. Some suites have been reduced to single rooms in the Guitar Hotel, but the street level of the Guitar Hotel has increased in size from 96,668 square feet to 127,645 square feet.
Only one pedestrian bridge from the resort will extend across Las Vegas Boulevard, on the north side, with the one on the south side eliminated. This reflects refined planning, not reduction.
