Construction of Cycling Infrastructure along Kirchhellener Straße: Conclusion of Final Transformation Project Begins
Kirchhellener Street in the city is set to undergo further changes as part of the ongoing creation of a new bike lane. The asphalt surface layer application works, scheduled from Thursday, September 11 to Tuesday, September 16, will take place half-lane by half-lane.
These works are not expected to affect the construction works between September 8 to 12, as the milling work on the road surface, which is also part of the project, will occur as planned on September 8. The milling work will be carried out in the same areas where the asphalt surface layer application will take place: between Parkstraße and Goebenstraße, Randebrockstraße at house numbers 8, 16, and 25, and Im Stadtgarten at house number 10.
During the asphalt surface layer application, the executing construction company will close the existing road half-lane alternately on Kirchhellener Street. The road half-lane closures are scheduled to take place from 7:00 to approximately 16:00. The road half-lane closures will occur at house numbers 8, 16, and 25 on Randebrockstraße and house number 10 on Im Stadtgarten.
It's important to note that the daily construction sites with temporary half-lane closures will not be affected by the asphalt surface layer application works. Additionally, the construction works in the area of Tourneaustraße and Moltkestraße, as well as the works on the district heating network at the entrance area of Steinmetzstraße, will remain unaffected.
The creation of the new bike lane on Kirchhellener Street is a significant step towards promoting sustainable and active mobility in the city. For updates on traffic conditions and any potential changes, residents and commuters are advised to stay informed through local news and traffic updates.
