Construction update: unidirectional route on Kuhlenwall street in Duisburg-Altstadt area

The Kuhlenwall between Junkernstraße and Gutenbergstraße is currently a one-way street, with traffic flowing from Junkernstraße towards Oberstraße. This change is part of an ongoing redevelopment project that is scheduled for completion by mid-September 2025.

The redevelopment project is a multi-phase construction effort that began at an unknown date. The next construction phase has recently begun, and the project is still in progress. Due to the ongoing construction, entry from Gutenbergstraße towards Oberstraße on the Kuhlenwall is no longer possible.

For vehicles affected by the one-way change, a detour via Pulverweg remains available. Pedestrian access through the Kuhlenwall area will remain unchanged during the redevelopment, allowing pedestrians to pass through the area as usual.

It's important to note that the completion date of mid-September 2025 is an estimate, and the redevelopment project has not yet reached its completion date. The redesign of the Kuhlenwall between Junkernstraße and Gutenbergstraße is expected to be completed by the end of October 20225, at which point the one-way street restrictions may be lifted.

Until the completion of the redevelopment, the direction of traffic on the Kuhlenwall between Junkernstraße and Gutenbergstraße will remain from Junkernstraße towards Oberstraße. Residents and commuters are advised to plan their routes accordingly and to follow the detour signs when necessary.

Stay tuned for updates on the Kuhlenwall redevelopment project as the construction progresses. Once completed, the area is expected to undergo significant improvements, enhancing the local infrastructure and promoting a more efficient flow of traffic.
