In the heart of Gütersloh, a city known for its vibrant community and bustling streets, a construction project is set to disrupt traffic patterns for approximately two weeks, starting on August 8, 2025. The project will encompass both Saarstraße and Goethe Straße.

The construction company or contractor overseeing the project will be working diligently to complete the project as efficiently as possible. However, the specific nature and purpose of the project remain undisclosed at this time.

During the construction, traffic will be rerouted. Drivers coming from Goethe Straße towards Pfälzer Straße should use Berliner Straße and Kaiserstraße to reach Carl-Miele-Straße, and then continue to Saarstraße. In the opposite direction, drivers can use Carl-Miele-Straße and Lothringer Straße to reach Berliner Straße.

Pfälzer Straße will be fully closed during the construction, but Saarstraße will remain accessible via the non-closed section of Pfälzer Straße throughout the construction period. Unfortunately, the nearby supermarket (corner of Pfälzer Straße and Berliner Straße) will not be accessible by car during construction.

Affected residents have been informed in advance and will need to find alternative parking options during the closure. The cooperation of local authorities and residents will be crucial for the successful completion of the project.

In a bid to minimise disruption, the city of Gütersloh has urged residents and visitors to avoid the area if possible. The replacement of the road surface on Pfälzer Straße, starting on August 18, 2025, is expected to take approximately two weeks, adding to the overall duration of the project on Saarstraße and Goethe Straße.

While the construction project may cause temporary inconvenience, the city of Gütersloh is hopeful that the necessary improvements will contribute to a safer and more efficient road infrastructure in the long run. As always, the city appreciates the understanding and patience of its residents and visitors during this time.
