On a Friday afternoon, an incident occurred at a railroad crossing on Tauchlitzer Straße, involving a 55-year-old truck driver. The truck driver's trailer tore off the barrier at the crossing, causing damage.

The Saale-Holzland Police Inspectorate, which is part of the Jena Police Headquarters, was promptly notified about the incident. The Jena Police Headquarters can be contacted at 036428 640, and emails can be sent to [email protected].

During the accident investigation, the truck driver was identified. However, it was reported that he continued his journey after the incident. The barrier at the railroad crossing was damaged but was promptly repaired to ensure the safety of other road users.

Further information regarding this incident can be found on the Thuringian Police website at http://www.thueringen.de/th3/polizei/index.aspx.

The operator of the railway network where the coupling band tore during the truck and trailer crossing over the railway crossing swing bridge on Friday evening is most likely DB InfraGO AG. This public-benefit subsidiary of Deutsche Bahn took responsibility for the main German railway infrastructure network from January 1, 2024, succeeding DB Netz AG.

It's essential to exercise caution when approaching railroad crossings, especially when heavy vehicles are passing through. Let's hope for everyone's safety on our roads and railways.
