In an unexpected turn of events, a 23-year-old traveler was arrested at Dortmund Central Station on September 3rd. The arrest was a result of outstanding warrants against the traveler, which were discovered by the Federal Police Directorate Sankt Augustin during a routine check.

The traveler, who arrived at the station around 8 a.m., had left a shoulder bag behind. The Federal Police at Dortmund Central Station found and secured the bag, but upon checking the traveler's details, they discovered the outstanding warrants.

The traveler, who is a homeless man from Werne, was served the arrest warrants and taken into custody. The arrest was made by the Federal Police Directorate Sankt Augustin, and the traveler was later transferred to the custody of the Dortmund Local Court.

In January 2024, the Dortmund Local Court sentenced the man to a fine of 45 daily rates of €10 each, or 40 days in prison. In February of the same year, he was sentenced to another fine of 30 daily rates of €10 each, or 7 days in prison. The total fine amount for the convictions, including costs, was €712.

The Dortmund Public Prosecutor's Office had been searching for the traveler with these two arrest warrants. After several phone calls, the convicted person managed to pay the required amount and left the station, marking the end of the manhunt.
