On September 1, 2025, a traffic accident occurred in Lübeck, Germany. The incident took place on Richard-Wagner-Straße towards Beethovenstraße at around 17:40.
The accident involved a black VW and three parked cars. Both the VW and the black Mercedes involved in the accident were completely damaged and towed away. The police have estimated the material damage from the accident to be approximately 50,000 EUR.
The driver of the black VW, a 53-year-old man from Ostholstein, was driving erratically. A voluntary breath alcohol test showed a preliminary result of 1.1 per thousand for the man. Consequently, the police ordered a blood sample to be taken from him in the hospital.
The man sustained minor injuries and was taken to a clinic as a precaution. The police secured the vehicle key and confiscated his driver's license. The police have initiated an investigation on suspicion of endangering traffic by consuming alcoholic beverages.
The Richard-Wagner-Straße was closed from 17:45 to 19:15 due to the accident investigation and towing operations. The search results do not provide the name of the 53-year-old man involved in the incident.
