COVID-19 Pandemic Slams Hard
In the past week, several schools and kindergartens in Rhein-Kreis Neuss have been affected by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
At the "Adam Riese" primary school in Meerbusch, a teacher has tested positive for the virus, resulting in a quarantine order for one class. Similarly, at the Roncallischule Beckum, a teacher's positive test result has led to a class being quarantined.
The Adolf-Clarenbach-Schule in Neuss has also reported a case, with a child testing positive for COVID-19, leading to the isolation of all children in the midday care. The Berufsbildungszentrum Hammfelddamm in Neuss has been affected twice, with two infected students causing a class to be put under quarantine.
At the Grundschule Budica in Kaarst, an employee and individual children in a class have been isolated due to a student infected with the coronavirus. In addition, a group in the kindergarten "Haus der Erzieher" in Neuss has been placed under quarantine due to an infected employee.
The latest data from the Landeszentrum Gesundheit Nordrhein-Westfalen (LZG) shows that the 7-day incidence value for the district stands at 119.3. This means that for every 100,000 people in the district, there are currently 119.3 new COVID-19 cases.
As a result of these cases and the recommendations of the district health department, a total of 3,394 persons are in quarantine as suspected cases.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, 4,949 infections with the coronavirus have been confirmed in the Rhein-Kreis Neuss. Of these, 64 are currently hospitalized. However, the total number of fatalities due to COVID-19 in the Rhein-Kreis Neuss remains at 60, as reported on 22.11.20.
On a positive note, a total of 3,868 people have recovered from COVID-19 in the Rhein-Kreis. Despite the recent surge in cases, it's important to remember that many people have successfully fought off the virus and returned to good health.
