Crash on Weyerstrasse: Motorcyclist hits tree; police seek eyewitness accounts
In the early hours of Saturday, August 31st, a hit-and-run traffic incident occurred on Weyerstraße towards Ohligs in Wald, resulting in a 25-year-old Solingen resident being involved in a collision while riding his Honda CBR.
According to reports, the unknown vehicle turning left from Tiefendicker Straße forced the motorcyclist to brake sharply, causing him to lose control and collide with a tree. Despite the accident, the motorcyclist was taken to a hospital for outpatient treatment.
The fleeing vehicle, believed to be a high-performance Mercedes, did not stop at the scene of the accident. The traffic division of the police is currently seeking witnesses to the incident to gather more information.
Witnesses to the incident are requested to contact the police at 0202 / 284 - 0. The motorcycle involved in the incident was no longer roadworthy and had to be towed.
Unfortunately, the police have not released any information about the condition of the motorcyclist. The driver of the Mercedes, who is sought by the traffic division of the police, remains unknown.
The police are urging anyone who may have information about the driver responsible to come forward and assist in their investigation. Let's hope for the speedy recovery of the motorcyclist and justice for all parties involved in this unfortunate incident.
