Creatures engage in play within the heart of Baunsberg district

In the heart of our city, the Baunsberg Community Centre (STZ) is buzzing with excitement as it hosts a series of events for 30 children during the summer holidays.

Yesterday, the children embarked on an exciting journey to the Hanover Zoo, courtesy of a generous donation from the local Lions Club. The bus ride was just the beginning of a week-long adventure focusing on colorful animals.

Last week, the focus was on black and white animals, with the children learning about fascinating creatures like pandas and zebras. This week, they're diving deeper into the world of vibrant and diverse animal species.

The community centre is not the only venue for these educational and entertaining activities. A donation from the GWH housing association has also played a crucial role in enabling the children to see live animals up close.

A highlight of the week was a visit from children's educator Christina Pavel from Fürstenwald, who brought her three adorable sheep, Cilly, Nellie, and Fritzi, to the centre.

The children are divided into three groups, each engaging in a variety of activities related to the animal theme, chosen by them. The theme of the games is, naturally, animals, designed to foster a love for these wonderful creatures.

The week will culminate in a grand family festival on Friday, where the children will showcase their artistic talents by selling their paintings and crafts. The proceeds from these sales will be donated to the Sababurg Wildlife Park.

This city blog is a service of our city marketing, providing news from our city, the Kassel district, and the North Hesse region. We hope you've enjoyed this glimpse into the exciting activities happening at the Baunsberg Community Centre this summer.
