Aga Khan University Hospital in Nairobi Seeks to Sell Two Properties to Recover Unpaid Medical Bill
In a recent development, the Aga Khan University Hospital in Nairobi County has filed a case in the Commercial Court seeking permission to sell two properties. The case involves a high-end hospital in Nairobi County and a dispute over a Sh21 million medical bill.
The hospital alleges that the parents of a 30-year-old patient named JOO, codenamed SOB and JMO, and another guarantor, codenamed KEN, have failed to pay the medical bill. The patient was discharged from the hospital in 2019.
The properties, which belong to the parents of the patient, are at the centre of the dispute. The hospital is seeking to sell the properties to recover the unpaid medical bill.
The case was filed before the Commercial Court in Nairobi, with the hospital stating that the parents and the guarantor have failed to honour their commitment to pay the medical bill, as agreed upon in 2019.
