Burglaries Rock Alfeld: Police Investigate String of Incidents
Between Saturday, 26th April and Sunday, 27th April, 2025, several burglaries occurred in a small radius within the city limits of Alfeld, Germany. The incidents, which affected vehicles in Ständehausstr. and Wallstr., as well as a single-family home in Holzer Str., have left locals on edge and the police scrambling to find the culprit.
The burglaries in Alfeld on Saturday, 26th April, involved the use of tools to pry open windows and the theft of items from vehicles. The unknown perpetrator likely gained access to the buildings via the property's driveway.
At around 22:45, a parked Honda Civic in Ständehausstr. was targeted. The perpetrator used a tool to pry open the passenger window, but the acoustic alarm was activated, preventing further action. The burglary was unsuccessful.
On the same night, between 23:00 and 02:50, another car, an Opel Corsa, in Wallstr. was targeted in the same manner. The rear side window on the passenger side was smashed, and a backpack, an older laptop, and a black jacket were stolen from the car. The value of the stolen items cannot yet be determined.
The burglary in Wallstr., also on Saturday, 26th April, resulted in the theft of a backpack, an older laptop, and a black jacket. Among other items, 125 euros in cash, a pack of cigarettes, a wallet, two handbags, and other personal belongings were stolen from the adjacent dining room of the affected home in Holzer Str.
Given the proximity of all incidents and the related timeframe, it is possible that the same perpetrator is responsible for all the crimes in Alfeld. The police in Alfeld are asking for any information regarding suspicious observations or the offer for sale of the stolen goods.
