In the vibrant world of Nigerian music, Ayodeji Solomon, known as Reekado Banks, has made a significant impact since his debut. After signing with Mavin Records in 2014, he gained fame and later ventured into a solo career in 2018, following his departure from the record label.

Since then, Reekado Banks has released several successful singles and albums, earning him recognition as an independent artist in the industry. His debut album, Spotlight, was released in 2016, and in July 2025, he dropped his second studio album titled The Game Needs You.

Throughout his career, Reekado Banks has garnered numerous awards, including Rookie of the Year and Next Rated at The Headies. However, his journey hasn't been without controversy. In 2020, during a church visit with content creator Toheeb Okala (Kesari), a Twitter user criticized Reekado Banks for attending church, suggesting he had failed at music.

In response, Reekado Banks expressed his anger and defended his decision to seek God. He questioned the criticism he received for it and even asked the Twitter user if they had a church for him to subscribe to. Kesari, who documented his first visit to church, where Reekado Banks accompanied him, shared the incident online.

The incident wasn't the only time Reekado Banks found himself in the limelight for his religious beliefs. In a previous instance, a social media user mocked him, calling him a failed artist for going to church. However, Reekado Banks, in a video response, questioned why seeking God should be mocked and demanded what better option the critic could suggest.

More recently, Reekado Banks has threatened to expose a demonic figure wrecking talents in the entertainment industry, causing setbacks for other artists. This statement came after a fallout with Wizkid over the Endsars song.

Despite the challenges, Reekado Banks remains a prominent figure in the Nigerian music industry, continuing to make waves with his music and unapologetic approach to his faith.
