Critical Car Collision Near Hückelhoven - Female Driver Involved in Accident Following Secondary Sleep on Highway
On Thursday, August 29, 2024, a 26-year-old woman from Heinsberg was driving a Renault Twingo on the A46 towards Heinsberg. At around 21:08, the woman momentarily nodded off while driving, causing her to swerve to the left.
Losing control of her vehicle, she veered to the right and entered the grass median. The Renault Twingo overturned multiple times before coming to a stop on the shoulder, upside down.
The accident caused by the woman's swerve affected at least two additional vehicles on the A46. The vehicles that ran over the parts of the overturned Renault Twingo were not extensively damaged, but did sustain minor damage.
The minor damage to the following cars was attended to by the emergency services, along with the woman's accident. Fortunately, the minor damage did not result in any additional injuries.
Despite her severe injuries, the woman managed to free herself from the Twingo. Emergency services transported her to a hospital. The driver of the Renault Twingo on the day of the accident has not been publicly disclosed.
