Crowd Gathers in Awe at ASI Dallas as Former President George W. Bush Delivers Inspirational Speech
The Advertising Specialty Institute (ASI) held its annual trade show in Dallas, Texas, on February 6, 2014, and it was a resounding success. The three-day event attracted over 3,300 distributors from 43 states and seven countries, setting a new record for attendance with a crowd of 1,200 people.
One of the top 40 distributors, Staples Promotional Products, brought its 125 promotional products sales executives and management team to the event. The show featured a variety of exhibitors, including 500 suppliers, with 65 of them making their debut in Dallas.
The event included a Gala Celebration at Gilley's, where attendees enjoyed mechanical bull riding and other festivities. President George W. Bush was the keynote speaker, sharing personal and defining moments of his presidency. Topics discussed during the conversation ranged from terrorism and crisis management to dealing with criticism, jump-starting the economy, managing a business, and painting.
The Dallas show also featured an Education Day with 51 classes, qualifying for points toward the ASI Certification Program. A new visual search feature is now available in ESP Web and ESP MobileTM, allowing subscribers to upload images for an instant scan for similar items in the industry's largest product database.
Four newly certified professionals were recognised in a pinning ceremony at the Dallas show. ASI recently awarded over 1,100 industry certifications through its free Online Learning Center.
The ASI Show in Dallas was not the only event of its kind in 2014. Other upcoming shows include Long Beach (March 25-27), New York (April 3-4), and Chicago (July 15-17).
In addition to the Dallas show, ASI returned to Dallas for the Promotions Southwest expo on August 11 at the state-of-the-art Irving Convention Center. Joe Haley conducted a live version of his popular "Joe Show" at the Dallas show, featuring dozens of new products.
The success of the ASI Show in Dallas underscores the vibrancy and growth of the promotional products industry. ASI's latest distributor sales report shows 2013 was the biggest sales year in the industry, surpassing $20 billion. With innovative features like the visual search tool and educational opportunities like the ASI Certification Program, the future of the promotional products industry looks bright.
