Customs Insights Event in Magdeburg and Halle (Saale) During Fall Break in Saxony-Anhalt
Customs Information Day Announced by Main Customs Office Magdeburg
The Main Customs Office Magdeburg has announced a series of events aimed at providing insights into the world of customs for students. The Customs Information Day will take place in Halle (Saale) on October 16, 2025, and in Magdeburg-Rothensee on October 23, 2025.
During these events, students will learn about the various tasks of the customs office in Saxony-Anhalt and gain insights into the daily work of customs officers. The Main Customs Office Magdeburg is responsible for all customs-related matters in the federal state.
Areas such as financial control of undeclared work, customs office, customs investigation and control unit for traffic routes, examination service, and duty collection will be presented. Students will be divided into small groups to learn about the different areas and the profession, training, and dual studies of a customs officer.
The event aims to present the Main Customs Office Magdeburg as an attractive employer. It is subordinate to the General Customs Directorate and belongs to the business area of the Federal Ministry of Finance.
In 2024, the Main Customs Office Magdeburg processed around 241,000 customs declarations and collected approximately 1.9 billion euros in taxes and customs duties. Notably, around 14.2 million euros in damage caused by undeclared work were uncovered by the office, and around 707,000 cigarettes and 390 kg of illegal fireworks were seized.
The Main Customs Office Magdeburg has five customs offices in Magdeburg, Halle (Saale), Dessau-Roßlau, Aschersleben, and Stendal. The Main Customs Office Magdeburg is located at Ihleburger Straße 4, 39126 Magdeburg.
Applications for the Customs Information Day can be sent by email to [email protected]. Students who aim for at least a medium school leaving certificate, as well as those who already have a school leaving certificate (at least medium), can apply. The event will run from 9 am to 2 pm.
