Customs officials in Furth reveal substantial wage discrepancies at security companies: HZA-R disperses pay to 16 employees

The Regensburg Customs Office is currently investigating a security company based in the southern Upper Palatinate for practicing wage splitting between 2016 and 2021. This practice, which involves dividing one person's salary among several employees, is a deliberate attempt to evade paying or paying insufficient social security contributions, such as for pension, health, or unemployment insurance.

Lead Government Director Matschke, head of the Regensburg Customs Office, has stated that wage splitting harms the social security system and fair competition. The practice creates an unfair advantage for companies that engage in it, as they avoid paying their fair share of social security contributions.

One case under investigation involves a worker whose overtime pay was distributed among 16 different colleagues between 2018 and 2019. In one month, this worker received her salary from four different people, indicating deliberate circumvention of legal regulations.

The Regensburg Public Prosecutor's Office has filed charges against the worker for aiding and abetting the withholding and misappropriation of wages at the Regensburg Regional Court. However, the name of the person charged by the Regensburg customs office is not publicly available.

The defendant, a worker at the investigated security company, made a full confession at the beginning of the main hearing. The Regensburg Customs Office believes that individual companies are deliberately trying to evade their social responsibilities.
