Cyclist abandons wounded fellow cyclist mid-ride

In the heart of Bielefeld, a disturbing incident took place on Wednesday afternoon. At approximately 5:15 PM, a 63-year-old woman was injured while cycling near Zu den Teichen. The accident occurred between Hillegosser Straße and Mittelbrede, a busy stretch of road where caution is usually advised.

The woman was overtaken by a cyclist who was riding at high speed on the right. This overtaking manoeuvre caused the woman to lose control, resulting in a fall into a ditch on the left. Witnesses are urged to contact the Traffic Commission 1 at 0521-545-0 with any information they may have.

The suspect in this incident is described as a 50-60-year-old man, approximately 180 cm tall, slim, wearing blue clothing, glasses, and riding a white e-bike with a thin frame and a mid-motor. The suspect initially stopped to help but left unnoticed after the woman was moved. However, a search for the suspect in the available records has not yielded any specific results.

The 62-year-old husband of the injured woman notified an ambulance and returned towards Bechterdisser Straße. The woman's current condition is not known at this time.
