Cyclist Harmed in Collision; Elderly Woman Swindled - Caution - Forced Entry into Medical Professional's Office
In the quiet towns of Southwest Germany, several incidents of crime and accident have been reported over the past few days.
In Reutlingen, a 69-year-old cyclist using a three-wheeled recumbent bicycle was injured in a traffic accident on Wednesday evening. The accident occurred at the exit of Oberstetten, and the perpetrator, who was driving a dark VW, remains unidentified. Witnesses who may have information about the incident, including details about the vehicle or its driver, are asked to contact the Reutlingen police at 07129/92862-0.
In a separate incident, a suspect handyman stole jewelry from an elderly woman in Tübingen on Monday morning. The police are seeking tips on the suspect, who is described as approximately 35 to 40 years old, around 160 to 165 cm tall, slim, with a dark complexion, short black hair, wearing long pants, a white T-shirt, and a black baseball cap.
Crime scene investigators were called to the scene in both cases. In Reutlingen, the police advise residents to be aware of criminals who use various methods to gain access to homes to steal valuables, such as pretending to have a medical emergency or posing as officials or handymen.
Meanwhile, in Dusslingen (TÜ), an unknown intruder broke into a medical practice on Uhlandstraße overnight from Monday to Tuesday. The intruder gained entry to the practice rooms by force and searched through all the cabinets. Initial findings suggest that the intruder made off with a small cash box.
In a less serious incident, the accident involved the 69-year-old cyclist and a VW driven by a woman. The collision occurred when the woman overtook the cyclist during the turn. The cyclist's bicycle tipped over after the collision, and he continued his journey home with injuries. The cyclist later sought medical attention due to his injuries, which were found to be severe and required hospital treatment.
