Damage to property occurring during journey towards the Biggenkopf-Nord rest stop
In an incident that occurred on the A44 highway, a car collided with an impact absorber at the Biggenkopf-Nord rest area, heading towards Dortmund at around 17:25. The exact location of the accident is not specified, but the incident caused significant damage.
The vehicle involved in the accident was a Peugeot 308, driven by an unnamed 73-year-old individual. The driver collided with the impact absorber for unknown reasons, causing severe front-end damage to the car. The car remained stuck diagonally in the entrance with the damage, leading to the closure of the entrance for approximately an hour for the accident investigation and towing of the Peugeot.
Fortunately, the driver was unharmed in the incident. An ambulance and the fire department were dispatched to the scene, but their services were not required.
