Day 2 Schedule: Foursomes and Singles Matches at the Walker Cup Tournament
The 50th Walker Cup is being held at the prestigious Cypress Point Club in California, with the competition reaching its climax on Sunday.
After the first day of competition, which consisted of morning foursomes and afternoon singles, Team GB&I has taken an early 3-1 lead against the US. The foursomes matches on Sunday will begin at 11:00am ET, with Connor Graham and Tyler Weaver playing against Jackson Koivun and Tommy Morrison.
In the morning foursomes, Team GB&I won the first three matches with scores of 3&1, 3&2, and 1-up. Cameron Adam and Dominic Clemons lost their match for Team GB&I with a score of 4&2. Niall Shiels Donegan, Connor Graham, and Stuart Grehan were the only players to score for Team GB&I.
On the US side, the team managed to secure 5.5 points from a possible 8 in the eight singles matches played on Saturday. Stewart Hagestad, Ben James, and Mason Howell were the only US players to secure a win in the singles matches.
As the competition enters its final day, the US needs to reach a total of 13.5 points to retain the Walker Cup for a fifth straight event. The singles matches will start at 4:30pm ET, with Tyler Weaver playing against Jackson Koivun.
In the fourth foursomes match at 11:45am ET, Cameron Adam and Niall Shiels Donegan will compete against Michael La Sasso and Jase Summy. Eliot Baker and Stuart Grehan will play Mason Howell and Jacob Modleski in the third foursomes match at 11:30am ET. Charlie Forster and Luke Poulter will face Ethan Fang and Preston Stout in the second foursomes match at 11:15am ET.
In the singles matches, Dominic Clemons will face Jacob Modleski in the tenth and final singles match at 6:00pm ET. Gavin Tiernan will play against Michael La Sasso in the ninth singles match at 5:50pm ET. Charlie Forster will play against Ben James in the seventh singles match at 5:30pm ET. Luke Poulter will compete against Preston Stout in the fourth singles match at 5:00pm ET. Eliot Baker will face Stewart Hagestad in the sixth singles match at 5:20pm ET. Stuart Grehan will play against Ethan Fang in the fifth singles match at 5:10pm ET. Cameron Adam will compete against Jase Summy in the eighth singles match at 5:40pm ET. Niall Shiels Donegan will face Tommy Morrison in the second singles match at 4:40pm ET. Connor Graham will play against Mason Howell in the third singles match at 4:50pm ET.
