Deadly Car Accident Claims Lives of Two Marquette University Lacrosse Players Close to Campus
In a tragic turn of events, the Marquette University community is mourning the loss of two of its lacrosse players, Scott Michaud and Noah Snyder, who were killed in a car wreck near the school's campus in downtown Milwaukee.
The accident occurred at around 5 p.m. on Friday. The car, driven by a 41-year-old individual, collided with another vehicle carrying six occupants, all of whom were members of the Marquette lacrosse team. The four other occupants were treated for injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
Noah Snyder, a 20-year-old sophomore attackman and College of Business Administration student from Irving, New York, played in 13 of Marquette's 14 games last season, making three starts in the midfield and collecting nine goals and seven assists. Scott Michaud, a 19-year-old sophomore goalie and biomedical sciences major from Springboro, Ohio, was named to the Big East's all-academic team last year for maintaining a grade-point average of at least 3.0.
University President Kimo Ah Yun expressed his condolences, asking for prayers for Noah Snyder and Scott Michaud's families, the Marquette Athletics community, and the college community. A Mass was held in honour of the two young athletes.
An investigation into the car wreck is ongoing. Criminal charges are pending review by the Milwaukee County district attorney's office.
In a separate incident, a 41-year-old motorcyclist from Graz died at the scene after colliding with a truck on the B69 near Soboth, Austria, on Monday, September 15, 2025. This unfortunate event serves as a reminder of the unpredictability of life.
Noah Snyder had previously attended Westtown School in West Chester, Pennsylvania. The memory of Scott Michaud and Noah Snyder will live on in the hearts of their friends, family, and the Marquette University community.
