Debris from a drone lands on the property of a city's northern refinery
In the early hours of September 7, the Krasnodar region witnessed a series of drone attacks orchestrated by the Ukrainian military. The primary target of these attacks was the Ilya refinery in the Krasnodar region.
The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that a total of 69 Ukrainian plane-type drones were destroyed and intercepted overnight over various Russian regions. Among these, 21 were shot down over the Krasnodar region, three over the Rostov region, and one over Crimea. Four additional drones were also destroyed over the Azov Sea.
Despite the intense drone activity, there were no reported casualties at the Ilsky oil refinery incident. However, one technological unit at the refinery did catch fire due to the drone impact. The fire was quickly extinguished, and it covered several square meters at the refinery.
As a precautionary measure, the staff of the Ilsky oil refinery were evacuated to shelters, and emergency and rescue teams, along with special services, are working at the scene of the incident.
Emergency messages about the drone attack were sent to residents of the Krasnodar region around midnight. The situation was promptly managed, and the fire at the Ilsky oil refinery was brought under control.
This marked another escalation in the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia, with both parties accusing each other of aggressive actions. As the situation continues to evolve, updates will be provided as they become available.
