Debut of our site's initial week dedicated to Sustainability!

Welcome to the inaugural Sustainability Week on our website! Throughout the week, we'll be bringing you updates and coverage on how the tech industry is embracing sustainability.

Today, we kick things off by exploring the pressing issue of e-waste and its impact on our environment. In 2022 alone, approximately 62 million tonnes of e-waste were produced globally, a concerning figure given the toxic chemicals that can leach into soil and water from this waste. Sadly, more tech products are ending up in landfill each year.

As we delve deeper into Sustainability Week, we'll be discussing various topics related to sustainability. For instance, we'll be looking at how the hi-fi industry is stepping up its game in terms of sustainability. Sennheiser's HD650 headphones are being hailed as an example of this shift, although more information about the creators behind these sustainable headphones and their design process is not yet available.

We'll also be discussing the quality of a product's picture or audio quality, emphasising that while these factors are important, our buying habits also play a significant role in the environment.

In an effort to make this week as informative as possible, we'll be sharing advice on how to make your products last longer, as well as offering three simple tips for eco-friendly solutions in TV buying that could save you money.

Moreover, we'll be taking a closer look at updates on the electricity usage for TV sets, and we'll be discussing wireless speakers, TVs, and streaming devices, although no new facts were presented in the "MORE" section regarding these topics.

On a local note, we're excited to highlight a Cumbria-based hi-fi brand that is prioritising the environment in its operations. This week will show how the industry plans to make its products more sustainable.

Stay tuned as we continue our journey towards a greener tech future. Updates on Sustainability Week coverage will be posted on the website throughout the week. Let's make a difference, together!
