On Sunday afternoon, two traffic accidents occurred on the A5 between Appenweier and Achern, causing approximately 11,000 euros in total damage.

The first incident involved an unknown motorhome driver traveling on the middle lane in the direction of the north at around 12:15 PM. According to reports transmitted by the Police Headquarters Offenburg, the motorhome allegedly changed lanes to overtake a Ford, causing the Ford to brake sharply and collide with the concrete barrier on the left side. The Ford, which was no longer roadworthy, had to be towed away.

In a separate incident, another accident occurred at the scene, involving a Mercedes coming from behind and colliding with the right exterior mirror of the stationary Ford. The driver of the Mercedes also fled the scene after the second accident.

The motorhome reportedly left the scene unscathed shortly after the accident. Witnesses with information about the unknown culprits or the vehicles that fled the scene are asked to contact the traffic service in Buhl at 07223 80847-0.
