In the quiet village of Oppersdorf, an unusual road incident occurred around 14:20 yesterday, involving several vehicles and leaving one driver under investigation.
According to the Regenstauf Police Station, the incident took place on Kreisstraße R15. The most apparent damage was caused to a Mitsubishi, which veered off the road and ended up in the right-hand ditch, damaging a traffic sign. The vehicle sustained significant damage, with a severely dented bumper and a broken side mirror. Remarkably, no injuries were reported.
The driver of the Mitsubishi, a 79-year-old individual, exhibited zigzag driving patterns before ending up on the wrong side of the road, facing several oncoming vehicles. One of these oncoming drivers pulled onto the sidewalk to avoid a collision, but unfortunately, contact was made, causing further damage.
Two drivers involved in the incident have been identified, and one of them, the elderly driver, has been investigated for endangering traffic due to mental or physical impairment, among other offenses. The Regenstauf Police Station has seized the man's driver's license.
However, the police are still seeking an unknown oncoming vehicle driver to contact them regarding the incident. Additionally, the third driver involved in the accident, who has not yet been identified, is a white SUV driver. This vehicle and driver remain unclarified according to current investigations.
If you have any information regarding this incident or the unidentified drivers, please contact the Regenstauf Police Station at 09402/9311-0. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated in helping to ensure the safety of our roads.
