Delivery of Seven Fresh Fire Vehicles to Dormagen Fire Department
Dormagen Fire Department Upgrades with New Vehicles
The city of Dormagen is enhancing its firefighting capabilities with the introduction of a new fleet of vehicles. The older fire engines are being retired, making way for these modern additions.
Mayor Erik Lierenfeld and regulatory officer Robert Krumbein handed over the new emergency vehicles, signifying their involvement in the procurement decision. The investment of approximately 2.1 million euros provides the fire department with modern technology, ensuring the safety of the citizens.
Three new vehicles will be stationed at the main fire station on Kieler Street. One of these is a command vehicle that supports the leadership of the B-service and interfaces with the regional control center. The command vehicle is equipped with a modern radio system, computer technology, special emergency software, an extendable light mast, a surround camera, and a weather station.
Another vehicle at the main fire station is a large tanker designed for fighting large fires. It boasts a large water tank, various foam and powder loads, and powerful water cannons.
In the city district of Gohr, a new help and rescue vehicle worth around 560,000 euros is being put into service. This vehicle can accommodate up to nine crew members and is a universal all-rounder for both firefighting and technical assistance.
Two more transport vehicles have been acquired for the locations of Hackenbroich and Stürzelberg for flexible transport of crew and equipment. Each new vehicle in its respective location is optimally tailored to its needs.
The new fleet also includes an ambulance equipped with a modern stretcher, comprehensive medical equipment, and the ability to communicate directly with a telemedicine doctor. This ambulance will undoubtedly prove invaluable in emergency situations.
In Delhoven, a special transport vehicle with additional equipment will be stationed. It has a modern drone for reconnaissance, a worktable for image analysis, and a rear monitor for displaying aerial images.
Mayor Erik Lierenfeld stated that these new vehicles ensure the fire department's preparedness for future emergencies. Fire Chief Bernd Eckhardt agrees, stating that these new vehicles are a valuable support for the firefighters.
On September 23rd, Pastors Ulrich Eßer and Frank Picht blessed seven new fire engines of the Dormagen fire department. The retirement of the older fire engines and the arrival of these new vehicles mark a significant step forward in the fire department's capabilities.
