Democrats unveil purported Trump birthday greeting attributed to Epstein

In a recent development, the House Oversight Committee has published a handwritten note from former President Donald Trump to the late Jeffrey Epstein. The note, allegedly penned in 2003 for Epstein's 50th birthday, has been a subject of mounting questions regarding Trump's historical ties to the controversial financier.

The document, which contains a brief message and Trump's signature, was part of a collection of birthday letters compiled by Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein's longtime associate. It was received from Epstein's estate as part of their investigation.

Trump's legal team has worked to distance the president from the Epstein controversy. Trump has vehemently denied authoring the letter and maintains he never sent such correspondence to Epstein. Trump also asserts that he never met Epstein's alleged victims.

Trump's relationship with Epstein dates back decades. The two were known to have socialised together, with Epstein attending several of Trump's high-profile events. However, Trump has downplayed his association with Epstein since the financier's legal troubles became public.

Epstein, who died in 2019, was accused of recruiting underage girls to provide sexual massages at his properties. Federal authorities concluded that Epstein acted alone in his suicide and had not maintained a client list or engaged in blackmail schemes against prominent individuals.

However, the handling of Epstein's case by federal authorities is still being examined. The U.S. government, specifically the Department of Justice, has recently begun handing over thousands of documents related to the Epstein case to the House Oversight Committee. These documents include police interview videos and audio recordings from investigations in Florida, totaling over 33,000 pages. Redactions have been made to protect victim identities and sensitive content about child sexual abuse.

Investigators continue examining the scope of Epstein's criminal network. Trump's political base has long believed that "deep state" actors were shielding Democratic and Hollywood figures connected to Epstein. However, the full extent of Epstein's criminal activities remains to be uncovered.

This latest revelation is likely to fuel further debate and scrutiny of Trump's ties to Epstein. Trump has filed a $10 billion lawsuit against the Wall Street Journal over its reporting on the matter. As the investigation into Epstein's case continues, more details may come to light.
